I’ve been corrupted by Drakengard 1 because whenever a game pulls a “character from fantasy world somehow travels to our/the human world” moment, all I can think of is this:
I accidentally clicked on the tag “antisemitism” on someone’s post and was brought to the antisemitism Tag. at the top you see the most closely related tags- 5/6 are about j k rowling, the only other is just a tw.
listen I’m not saying that you can’t call out jkr’s new video game, but when that Dominates the tag something is wrong. There were four terrorist attacks in Israel the past few weeks, which targeted Jews (though we should not forget the non Jews who were also killed). Antisemitic conspiracy theories about Zelenskyy and George Soros are being propagated by Putin, Orban, and Tucker Carlson alike. Social media companies regularly fail to remove antisemitic hate speech & calls to violence against Jews when it is written in a language other than English. Antisemitism is far broader than a fucking video game and when that is overwhelmingly the only thing non Jews find relevant when they think about antisemitism, something has gone horribly wrong.
